Spinning Orb with Grid

To create this you will use ImageReady3.0
- Open a new document. 150 x 150 pixels (you can use any dimensions you like but that's what I used to make the orb above).
- Make a new layer
- Using the elliptical marquee tool and holding down the shift key, draw a circle on the new layer and center it.
- Fill the circle with any color.
- Then go to Filter-->Other-->Ditherbox
- Click on "NEW" button and select the 8 X 8 grid
- Click on the "Rename..." button and rename this pattern "Grid1"
- Click on the pencil icon, move over to the color gride and choose black.
- Draw with the pencil and color in black the top row and the far right vertical row with black.

- Using the pencil icon, choose any other color you'd like. I chose a blue.
- Fill in the rest of the grid.

- Click on "Fill" button.
- Go Filter-->Distort-->Spherize. Use the default settings and click on okay.

- DO NOT DESELECT.
- Make a new layer. Fill with any color.
- Go Filter --->Other --->Ditherbox
- Click on the "NEW" button. Make sure you have the 8 X 8 grid selected.
- Click on the "Rename.." button and rename this pattern "Grid2"
- Use the pencil tool, select black from the color gride and draw a "T" on the grid -- filling in the top row and either the 3rd or 4th vertical row.

- Then fill in the rest of the grid with the same color you had in Grid1. If you've forgotten which shade you had, you can click on Grid1 pattern, use the eyedropper to get a sample of the color, and go back to Grid2 and now you will have the color you need.
- Click on the fill button.
- Go Filter-->Distort-->Spherize. Use the default settings and click on okay.
- Deselect.
- Okay, you're almost finished!
- Now you have two layers with two different orbs.
- On the Animation palette, there is already one frame in view.
- In the layers palette, turn off the eyeball on layer 2. This hides layer 2.
- Click on the "Duplicates Current Frame" button to make a new frame.

- In the layers palette, turn off the eyebabll on layer 1, and turn on the eyeball in layer 2.
- Now hit the play button in the animation palette. Spinning orb!

- You can adjust the time but make sure you make adjustments to both frames.
- Click on the 4 UP tab and optimize as a GIF
- File --->Save Optimized as... and the file will be saved with all your animation.
- Success!! A spinning orb with grid. If you want to make the spin smoother, make more patterns, more layers, and more frames.
