Tir na nôg is our home city. Tir na nôg translates to "land of eternal youth." It is a mystical land in Gaelic mythology where the land is always green and a bard is always ready with a tune to lighten your heart. Good ale and good friends are always at hand.... and of course, you'll never age a day!! You may live for blissful eternity in this enchanted land. If you live in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, you can visit Tir na nôg for an excellent meal, lively entertainment, and a perfect pint of ale!!

Peadar Breathnach was a prolific and popular song maker from Glenfin in Co. Donegal. He lived around the middle of the last centrury. This is probably the most popular of his songs. Here we meet with a young man who seems to be on the run. (Perhaps, he's running away from some angry man who wants to be his father-in-law.) Eventually he ends up in the island around Aranmore and he meets a young woman who is more than a match for him. They retire to a shebeen at the side of the road where his music keeps the drink flowing freely. There are different opinions as to the capacity of O'Donnell's gallon mentioned in the last verse. One thing is certain--i'ts more than eight pints.
